Finding Freedom and Purpose in Homeschooling
Meet Jenny
I am a wife, homeschool mom, mental health therapist, relationship intelligence coach, and podcaster.
But that's just what I do. Who I AM is a child of God, existing for his glory and honor in this world.
I started Super Simple Homeschool with one goal in mind: to help moms find purpose in their homeschool, while keeping it super simple.
My Homeschool Story
When I first started homeschooling 8 years ago, I went through curriculum like candy. Then, like candy wrappers, I would discard the curriculum because it wasn't working well for us or I found another new one to try.
I kept trying new curricula thinking, "I just haven't found the one that works for us yet!" I didn't realize that I didn't actually NEED curriculum.
For some families, curriculum works great. It provides a structure and security that a lot of homeschooling moms appreciate.
For me, it was a box that my kids just weren't fitting into. When I discovered that I was dealing with dyslexia in my kids I thought, "That's why THESE curriculums aren't working! I need NEW curriculum for dyslexia!"
Wrong again.
It took me a while to realize that my kids learn best without a curriculum. They DO need structure, routine, and lots of educational resources.
I started using Notebooking in our homeschool, and in the process started creating digital resources for us to use. Then I decided if they were helpful to me, they might be helpful to others as well.
After a year of creating digital and printed resources for us and a few members of our community, I decided to start Super Simple Homeschool as a way to get my story and my content more organized.
I hope that you will find inspiration from my story and that my resources can help you find freedom in your homeschooling as we have.
